A 1931 record group created by Adolf Hitler's government survives today as a collection of hundreds of thousands of pre-1800 family trees and Ahnentafels of German SS-soldiers and their prospective spouses, often filling gaps left by German civil and church records.

Dr. Walter Kamphoefner, history professor at Texas A&M and author of Germans in America, will speak on "The 1848 Revolution in TX: The Black-German Republican Reconstruction Era Alliance and Progressive Politics." The topic covers the political alliance of Black and German Republicans, and the progressive politics of that era resulting from the political refugees of the 1848 era.
