Real life pushed into the conference on Friday afternoon when one of our speakers had to cut short her presentation to go to a bomb shelter. Sabine Akabayov was speaking from Israel the day after it bombed Iranian targets. Sabine warned the organizers that retaliatory attacks were expected, and she might not be able to do her presentation live. But she got within 10 minutes of the end when sirens sounded. The audience was appreciative of her commitment to speaking and glad to hear later from Sabine that she was safe and able to return to her home. And we turned to Whova to do the Q&A so the audience could still receive her answers.
